Through this Project I have grown in my vision for using my profession to . deliver spiritual care to my patients. Spiritual care is not only a good idea, but also essential to caring for the whole patient. I've developed a stronger appreciation for God's amazing grace and a greater burden to take the Gospel to the nations.

Shadowing the Christian physicians and seeing them use their platform to share the Good News made such an impact on me because I realized that it is in fact possible to use medicine to expand God's kingdom.

I have grown immensely in my relationship with the Lord. I have learned ways I can incorporate my faith into my future practice. I am excited about the plans God has for my life and I am grateful I was able to attend. I cannot think of a more productive way for a Christian health professional in training to have spent the summer.

My first year of medical school had challenged and even broken my vision for what God had in store for my future as a medical doctor. But, praise God, through living examples and mentors of Christians [on the Project] desiring to live faithfully to administer the Gospel of Christ in their medical professions, I've been able to see and regain a Christ-centered vision.

The Project is invaluable in training me to share my faith with my patients. After learning it in the classroom, we actually got to see it done in real life, and then practice it ourselves. This Project has brought me closer to God.

I've come to a greater understanding of the importance of spiritual care in being the caring physician I aspire to become. I have desired to discuss faith issues with my patients, but before this summer training experience, I was unsure how to do so in a sensitive but effective manner. This is the BEST way I could have spent these four weeks.

Without this project, my perspective on integrating my faith into health care would have remained narrow and clouded. I used to think that patients would not want to discuss spiritual maters because of its personal and private nature. I learned, however, that many patients are actually hungry to talk about such issues, and are willing to talk about them and be prayed for.

"In the business of Medical training, it is a sacrifice to take one month out of your summer to come to the Summer Mission Project. However, God will bless your decision, as you will grow more intimate with Him while learning how to ethically and effectively share your faith with future patients and colleagues."

"God called me into the medical profession in order to glorify Him; however it is really easy to be distracted amongst all of the studying, competition and stress of medical school. This project was an incredible time of spiritual growth and it gave me a chance to refocus on why I entered into the medical field to begin with."

"Through the work of the Spirit and the staff at The Medical Strategic Network, I was given the opportunity to see one man, very close to his last breath, come to know the Lord. Over the course of two days we met for close to four hours and shared family backgrounds, our fears, and our struggles. It was a powerful, magnificent and transcendent experience that left us both clutching hands and crying as we dwelt upon the reality of God's love."
